I am a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner with a background in psychology and am registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). My training includes acupuncture, tui-na massage, cupping, moxa and diet and lifestyle change work. I have completed several specialist training courses including; obstetrics, fertility, pain and cosmetic acupuncture.
I previously ran a private clinic focusing on women’s health at Hammersmith Hospital, now since having my own three children, practise solely in Hove. I offer an integrated style of medicine using traditional East Asian approaches to healthcare that are informed by current evidence-based research. This approach provides effective, person-centred treatments that support lifelong health. In pregnancy treatments may benefit; morning sickness, anxiety, back pain, malposition of the foetus, preparation for labour and delayed labour.
I am available to provide talks and articles upon request. I am completing my PhD research at Southampton University with a team of health psychologists and Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) experts. I have published academic articles on acupuncture and CAM in relation to lifestyle change and clinical communication, and contribute to articles in this area for popular health magazines. I assist in teaching at Southampton University and at the Northern College of Acupuncture (NCA) and am an editor for the BAcC Acu magazine. I have delivered talks on acupuncture research at the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine Conference, the BAcC Conference, the Acupuncture Research Symposium and the NCA Research Conference (Lifestyle Medicine).
