Antenatal Acupuncture

Acupuncture can be used to assist with a range of pregnancy related conditions, offering women an alternative to taking medication. Acupuncture may also be used for the discomfort often regarded as part of a ‘normal’ pregnancy that just has to be endured. While acupuncture is viewed by many as an ‘alternative’ medicine, its use in pregnancy is widespread in many countries such as Denmark, France, Germany and Switzerland.

Additionally, we often recommend acupuncture at the turn of trimesters -12, 24 and 36 weeks, as these are important transition times in the course of the pregnancy. The treatments are understood to  help strengthen the mother and baby.  We also recommend weekly treatments from 36 weeks to help prepare for birthing.
